Forthcoming Musical Events at St Peter’s
Organ Recital by Francesca Massey – sub Organist at Durham Cathedral Wednesday 14 March at 7.30pm
This is a highly commended recital and it is hoped that the occasion will be well supported, even by those who do not normally attend organ recitals.
The event is being organised by ‘Cleveland Organists’ and Choirmasters’ Association’ and members of the public are cordially invited free of charge.
Francesca Massey took up her post at Durham in 2011 where, in addition to the daily provision of music for services and training the choristers, she regularly accompanies the cathedral choir in concerts, tours, broadcasts and recordings.
Prior to this she held organ scholarships at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, and at Manchester Cathedral. She also held the post of Assistant Director of Music at Peterborough Cathedral.
The recital will include Bach’s exquisite 4th Trio Sonata, Flor Peeters’ ‘Suite Modale’, Kenneth Leighton’s ‘Ex Resurrexit’ and Louis Vierne’s ‘Troisieme Symphonie’.
